Tessa Dimnik
My name is Tessa Dimnik and I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. One of my main focuses in therapy is to create an environment of authenticity and empathy - this means that you are going to see me for who I am and I hope this encourages you to be more comfortable being you! I enjoy working with a range of populations including adults, couples, and families and I work with diverse cultures, ethnicities, spiritual beliefs, and sexual orientations.
My approach to therapy sits within 'person-centred' and I use tools, tips, and techniques from other approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, playing volleyball, reading, traveling, and spending time with my family, friends, and 3-legged dog. I am also a huge advocate for realistic and on-going self-care. I am always looking for further opportunities to learn and expand my therapeutic experiences and knowledge.
